Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) is an autonomous statutory body under the Ministry of Health that regulates food safety in India.
FSSAI registration types:
- Basic Registration - Small manufacturers (turnover up to Rs 12 lakhs)
- State License - Medium businesses (turnover Rs 12-20 lakhs)
- Central License - Large businesses (turnover above Rs 20 crores)
All licensed food business operators must file an annual return (Form D1) by May 31.
